17-A Invite what you need into your life

I hope you are all having a wonderful Monday.  I know some of you may read the topic and wonder exactly what I mean.  This past week, I was bombarded with a message and wanted to share my story with you.  While running with a friend, I mentioned I was struggling with trusting in the law of attraction and the law of abundance 100%.  I was almost there, but could not just let go and give in completely.  I left our conversation thinking about what I would need to trust completely and the universe answered over and over again.  It is funny how the world presents to us what we need when we need it.

Later in the day after my run, I got an email from a friend entitled "Attitude".  Here is the email-  There was once a woman who woke up in the morning, looked in the mirror and noticed she had only 3 hairs on her head.  "Well" she said, "I think I will braid my hair today."  So she did and had a wonderful day.  The next day she woke up, looked in the mirror and saw that she had only 2 hairs on her head.  "HMM" she said, "I think I'll part my hair down the middle today."  So she did and had a grand day.  The next day she woke up, looked in the mirror and noticed that she had only one hair on her head.  "Well" she said, "today I am going to wear my hair in a pony tail."  So she did and she had a fun, fun day.  The next day she woke up, looked in the mirror and noticed there wasn't a single hair on her head.  "Yay!" she exclaimed, "I don't have to fix my hair today!"  The email continued to say Attitude is everything... Life isn't about waiting for the storm to pass...It's about learning to dance in the rain.

I had also just started reading the book "The Law of Intention" by Wayne Dyer and I was feeling overwhelmed and I was not sure how to just let go. I was not sure whether to continue with the book but I had gotten the recommendation from a friend and decided to continue reading.  I am so glad I did because the book unfolds in the perfect way and it really gave me steps and thoughts to use to set my intentions and trust completely in myself and the life I am creating.  It also goes into detail about life being what you make of it and shows how your attitude toward others and yourself plays a huge role.

That same day, I got another email from this "Butterfly Experiment" I am doing.  To learn more visit http://www.lorihamann.com/butterflyexperiment.htm.  The topic of the day was "Limiting Beliefs".  The message went into detail about how the only thing that can hold you back is your own limiting beliefs, but these beliefs can be changed if you are open to rewriting your mantra.

All alone, I may not have paid much attention to each topic on it's own, but when 3 things show up so quickly right after I ask for help, it is hard not to believe.  My attitude and hesitancy in believing were exactly what was holding me back but once I opened myself up and asked for help, I got the answers I was looking for.  Have you ever wondered how you get exactly what you need when you need it?  Imagine if you actually invite more of what you need into your life and ask for things and they show up as easily as they did for me.  Pretty powerful thinking isn't it?

Questions:
Either journal about these questions or spend some time thinking through each answer.
- What keeps showing up for you in your life?
- Is it positive or negative?
- What is the message you need to get from it?
- What do you really want from your life?
- How can you trust in the process of inviting what you need into your life?

Fieldwork:
Be really conscious of what keeps showing up for you this week.  What are you asking for and drawing into your life?  Are you getting the message that keeps showing up?

16-B Coming Home

The upcoming topic will be Inviting What You Need Into Your Life.

Happy Friday!

We all need a safe comfortable place that makes us feel "home".  This week, I hope you have found a few places or activities that bring you that peace and comfort and leave you revitalized.  I know after the last few days I have had, I need a dose of "home" myself.  I will definitely be making an effort to rebalance myself and get my energy back today.

If you know what being home gives you and if you are aware of the feelings you have when you are in balance, you will be able to tell when you need a dose of "home" for yourself too.  By being aware of  your feelings when you are recharged or by knowing when you are running out of energy, you can begin to spend time in your special place before you are on empty.  You will be able to sense when you are not spending enough time taking care of you and by taking just a little bit of extra time, you can fully revitalize yourself.

I hope you begin to notice your energy levels when you are taking care of yourself and you make an effort to spend your time at a higher energy level instead of being in a place where you feel rundown.  If we all take time to get to know ourselves we can create an energy shift by going home whenever we need to.

Questions:
Either journal about these questions or spend some time thinking about your answers.
- What does it feel like to have a place/activity that recharges you?
- How will it feel to know when you need to visit "home"?
- How do you find your balance between being home and being elsewhere?
- What does it do to your energy when you go home?
- What do you need in your life to keep your energy positive?

Fieldwork:
Work on being aware of when you are feeling disconnected from home.  Make an effort to balance yourself before you are on empty.  Work on keeping your energy running at a higher level.  Keep your tank full!

If you are enjoying the blog, pass it along to your friends and family!  Also, if you have any feedback, I would love to hear from you.  coachgaye@redefinebalance.com

16-A Coming Home

What does home mean to you?  In yoga last week, my instructor asked us this question and for me many different things came to mind.  My childhood home, the home I live in now with my husband and children, working out, reading, and doing yoga.  I feel lucky to have so many places or things that make me feel "home".  I can go to these places and feel safe and secure and recharge myself.

My instructor said she thought about this question after finally getting to do yoga after a 2 week hiatus.  She said after class, she was driving home and she felt a great sense of "coming home".  What really struck me about this was not only the coming home part, but it was the energy she brought to class that day.  She is always so fun loving and energetic, but that day she was exceptional.  We could all feel she had "gone home" too.

I want each of us to know the feeling of going home and to be able to feel the energy that pours out because we have done exactly what we need just for us.

Questions:
- What do you need to do to feel like you are "home"?
- What is home to you?
- How often do you spend time there?
- What does it feel like to be "home"?
- What is your energy level?
- What does it do for you as a person?
- How can you make it a point to spend more time in that place?

Fieldwork:
Define what "home" means to you.  It does not necessarily need to be a place.  It can be an activity or it can be a person that makes you feel safe and secure.  Where can you go to recharge and feel like you are doing something just for you?  Find that place and make a point to spend some time there this week.

Topic 16 Bonus Challenge:
Was there an energy shift when you went "home"? Notice what your energy felt like this week when you took time to go to your safe place and recharge.

15-B More Questions

The upcoming topic, 16A, will be Coming Home.  Join me tomorrow to see more!

I know when you think about asking questions of yourself it can be a scary proposition.  Some of the answers may scare us as well.  So many of us don't like change, but by asking questions and being open to the answers, we may be creating change for ourselves.

The thing to keep in mind is that by asking the questions and making the necessary changes, we are living a more true life.  Isn't it more scary to think about going through life blindly not questioning anything and just accepting whatever life throws our way.  What type of life do you want?  One where you think about what you want to create and you are an active participant, or one where you are just reactive to things coming your way.

When I am struggling with something that is a little scary, I always ask myself  "what is the worse case scenario?"  I think through how I would handle that, and many times, the worst thing that could happen is really not so bad.  Don't be afraid of the questions or answers.  Jump in and create your life!  Be careful, you may get exactly what you want;)

Questions:
Either journal about these questions or spend some time thinking through the answers.
- Why do we struggle with asking ourselves the questions we know we should ask?
- What changes do you need to make in your life today?
- Why is this so hard?
- Why is change so scary?
- What is the alternative to not asking questions of ourselves?
- Is that how you want to live your life?
- What is the worse case scenario if you start to question what you want in your life?
- Will you be able to handle that?

Fieldwork:
Ask yourself the tough questions you know you should ask about your life and the direction you want to head.  Be true to who you are and what you really want.  Open yourself up so you can live the life of your dreams!

Topic 15 Bonus Challenge:(Sorry this was not posted earlier- blogspot was having technical difficulties and it did not post.)
If you have skipped some of the questions from past blogs, go back and answer those. Ask yourself why you skipped them. Did they bring up something for you or did they just not fit for you at the time? Create positive shifts for yourself this week.
Remember, the answers are all inside.  Enjoy the journey!

15-A You have the answers inside

I took last night off from posting the upcoming weeks blog topic because it was Mother's Day yesterday.  Happy Mother's Day to all of the Mothers that read the blog.  I hope you had a wonderful day!  As I am writing right now, I am still not sure what the topic this week is going to be, so maybe there was a little procrastination going on as well.

One thing I do want to share this week is to explain why I ask so many questions in my blog.  As a coach, I truly feel like we all have the answers inside of us.  No one can create our perfect life for us and we are the only person that knows exactly what we need.  We are all so unique and what works best for someone else may not work for us at all.  I am not saying if I asked "what do you need in your life right now" you would be able to answer with exact clarity, but by asking so many different questions, I hope you are able to answer a few of them and I hope they get you thinking.

Another major reason I always include questions is to get you on track to start asking yourself questions when you are working through something.  By providing you with some questions, I hope you work through those and then ask yourself even more questions to get you moving along your path.  By having you think through the answers to the questions, I hope you can begin to see how just asking a few questions of yourself can open you up to the answers inside.

By being open to asking yourself even the hard questions, I hope you will begin to see and create your perfect path.  As a coach, I love it when I ask the right question.  The one that gives you an "aha" moment.  The one that makes you know you have the answers inside and you are on your perfect path.  Don't be afraid to go even more deeply than my questions do.  Trust yourself and your answers.  Remember you have all of the answers inside!

Questions:
Either journal about these questions or spend some time thinking through the answers.
- What questions do you need to ask yourself?
- Where could your life improve?
- What is holding you back from making changes?
- Do you answer the weekly questions?
- If not, why?
- What path do you need to follow?
- What is the perfect path for you?
- What do you need to open up inside of yourself?

Fieldwork:
Really work through the questions and create some great questions on your own.  Ask yourself tough questions and don't be afraid to answer them.  You know your path, trust yourself!

14-B Teaching Gratitude to your children

I hope everyone is enjoying their week.  I can't say I am not a bit disappointed I did not hear back from more people about how they teach their children gratitude, but I know as parents, we are all so busy.  Here are a few ways others have taught their children gratitude.  I hope you enjoy seeing what others have done so you can create this for your family.

As a family, make a list of the things you are all grateful for.  Do this as a group and include things each of you are grateful about.  Revisit this often and see how things change.

Model gratitude to your children.  When they do something you are grateful for, make sure you thank them and let them know how appreciative you are.  If you show them this, they will begin to do this as well.

Go without things when the opportunity arises.  For instance, when the hurricanes hit recently and many were without power, this was a great way to teach our children how it would be if we did not have electricity to do all of the things we take for granted each day.  It was a great opportunity to remember all of the things we are usually able to do and be grateful for those.  Find the lesson when it is available.

I am not doing questions today, so make sure to really focus on the fieldwork and create your own family traditions around showing/teaching gratitude.

Fieldwork: Create a ritual/tradition for your family that shows or teaches gratitude to your children.
Enjoy the journey!

14-A Share Gratitude with Your Children

Hello,
Last week we explored gratitude and everything we are thankful to have in our lives.  This week, for those of you that are parents, share the lesson of gratitude with your children.  You may already have some great things in place to teach gratitude to your children, but if not, find your unique way to let them know how wonderful things are.  There is always something to be positive and appreciative about and teaching them this is a great lesson.

My family has a ritual/tradition that we do some nights when we are having dinner together.  We take turns going around the table and we get to share with everyone else something we love about them.  We don't do this every night, but when we do, my kids really love it.  They sometimes ask "can we do that thing where we say I love it about you"?  They even include all of our pets when it is their turn to say what they love.  They not only get to leave feeling good about what was said about them, they also get to learn how it feels to say something nice about someone else.  Some nights this changes into something great that we loved about our day, but the message is the same.  We can find gratitude for the things around us especially if we are taught to look for it.

For topic 14-B on Friday, I would love to be able to share some of your great ideas about how you teach/show your children gratitude.  Please email me with your best ideas and I will include some of your responses in my Friday blog post.  Email me at coachgaye@redefinebalance.com by Thursday to be included in the post.

Questions:
Either journal about these questions or spend some time thinking about your answers.
- How do you share gratitude with your family?
- Is there a way you can incorporate more of this into your life?
- What does gratitude look like to your children?
- What benefits will your children get by being more gracious?
- Do you think being gracious is important for them to understand?
- If so, what can you do to teach this to them?

Fieldwork:
Find your family's perfect way to share gratitude with your children.  What will you do to show them the power of being positive and being gracious for everything they have in life?  Remember to email me some of your great ideas!  coachgaye@redefinebalance.com

Quote: Sir John Templeton-How wonderful would it be if we could help our children and grandchildren to learn thanksgiving at an early age. Thanksgiving opens the doors. It changes a child's personalitiy. A child is resentful, negative- or thankful. Thankful children want to give, they radiate happiness, they draw people.
